About Me

I am Zicheng Wang (汪子承), a Ph.D. candidate in the Program of Human Genetics (Computational Track) at the University of Chicago (UChicago), advised by Prof. Xin He. My research focuses on functional genomics and complex traits, particularly single-cell multiomic analyses and genome-wide association studies (GWAS). I develop and apply computational methods in human genetics.

Education and Research Experience

Before joining UChicago, I earned a Master’s degree in Computational Biology from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. My master’s thesis, supervised by Prof. Liming Liang, explored the shared genetics between Alzheimer’s disease and strokes using GWAS data. I also worked with Dr. Mercedeh Movassagh in the Rafael Irizarry Lab at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, investigating the genomic regulation of non-coding RNAs in hydrocephalus.

I hold Bachelor’s degrees in Biological Sciences and Quantitative Economics from the University of California, Irvine, with a minor in Statistics. During my undergraduate studies, I conducted neuropharmacology research under Prof. Olivier Civelli and Prof. Amal Alachkar.
